First snow of the season today. Looks like I'm going to need my boots tomorrow because it's not stopping. It makes everything look like Christmas, though, and when the wind blows I feel like I'm living in a snow globe.
And because of that, here's a couple of different versions of Let It Snow. Have fun!
I was bored. And I couldn't get these songs out of my head.

Nope, not for kids. Not really.
More of The Jets, yay! I posted about them a couple of weeks back and posted some fast songs. This week it's all about the ballads. Really excellent ones, if I may say so. These five would be my favorites, mostly because they've got *ahem* memories attached to them. Some of them, anyway. They're also great for singing in the bathroom.
Enjoy and have a nice weekend!
And no, dear children, that is not dancing. That's what you call swaying in place.
My dad loves Rick Astley. He used to have this Best of Rick Astley tape (so old school) in the car and he'd play it over and over until my brother decided that he couldn't stand it and hid the tape. Which he also promptly forgot about. It doesn't matter, though, because my dad eventually found a CD which he listens to all the time while working. And when my brother's around, he turns it up extra loud just to tick him off a little bit.
I love this song, it perks me up instantly.
I've always loved this song, and it was a nice surprise to hear it in the movie Bridget Jones' Diary. It's probably also one of my most favorite crush songs. Uh-huh, queen of denial.
I don't know why, but when I try to think of songs that I associate with happy times when I was a kid, I always go back to Gloria Estefan and the Miami Sound Machine and The Jets. And—horror of horrors—Menudo (and my long-time, decades upon decades-old crush on Ricky Martin).
It has also left me with most of Gloria Estefan's ballads forever burned in my memory. I'm all karaoke-ready when it comes to that. However, I really like this one a lot. If I had to pick just one torch song, it would be I Still See Your Smile.
It's no small wonder that I turned out this way, you know, kind of twisted. Heh.
So here's my contribution to 80's Music Friday; it's the 80's Pop Extravaganza! And may the rhythm get to you, too.
