People would probably be surprised to know that even if my favorite author is Gabriel García Marquez, he's not my top pick when it comes to the fiction author that I'd like to write like.  I love his books, I love how strange and complicated they can get, but he's just a runner-up in this one.

Middlesex: A Novel

My main man would be Jeffrey Eugenides, who wrote The Virgin Suicides and Middlesex.  I don't often sit and read for two or three hours straight or until I finish the book, but with his books I do that.  There is something about the way he writes that just carries me from one paragraph to the next.  I totally recommend his books and I can't wait for him to finish writing one more.
